All surgeries in Derwentside are closed 3rd Thursday afternoon of each month from 12midday for Protected Learning 

How to make an appointment

You can make an appointment over the telephone to the appropriate surgery number or by calling in at the surgery in person. Patients are able to express preference for a particular practitioner when they make an appointment.

A regular appointment is for 10 minutes. If you require a longer appointment please ask the receptionist when making your appointment.

Telephone appointments can be arranged if required and can be accessed via the receptionists.

Disabled Access

Both surgeries have level access from outside. Annfield Plain has wide entrance doors and a large vestibule to aid entrance. 

Home Visits

Home visits are reserved for those patients housebound due to their medical condition. If a home visit is unavoidable, it would be helpful to make the request before 10am. 

A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Surgery.
